PERSONAL CONSULTATIONS
See some Examples of the Design
Process
Although I have a
large selection of jewelry that is ready made, my favorite thing in
the world is working on custom jewelry design for weddings.
The way a custom
design begins, is with a personal consultation with the bride, and
sometimes the groom or a mother or friend. We discuss the fabrics
and colors of the wedding, the personal tastes of the bride, the
necklines of the dresses and what kind of fashion statement the
wedding is to make.
The consultation
can be over the phone, or in person initially. If in person, I will
show you some samples of my jewelry and hopefully you will show me
samples of the fabric from the gowns and pictures of the style of
the dresses as well.
Once we agree on a
look, I will go off and create a few samples. Once the samples are
completed, we will meet again to make sure the design is what you
envisioned.
Finally, I will
make up the jewelry and have it for delivery on the date we agree on
at the outset. This may include jewelry for the bride, bridesmaids,
flower girls and even the mothers of the bride and groom.
If you are too far
away from New Hampshire for us to meet in person, we can do these
meetings over the phone as well. I will call, we will send pictures
and swatches back and forth and eventually samples of designs until
we agree on the proper look. Then the jewelry will be created and
shipped to you.
In the event we
work over a distance, the Internet is a wonderful tool for showing
you pictures quickly (often while we are still on the phone), so
that we can both be sure we are describing the same thing. A picture
is after all, worth a thousand words!
I hope to have the
opportunity to many more custom weddings as these are the most
rewarding and artistically creative endeavors.
Sincerely,
Alison
