THE DESIGN PROCESS These examples are all from different weddings. They are intended to give a sense of the process that takes place when I work with a bride to design custom jewelry. Mother of the Bride ~ Step-mother of the Bride ~ Bridesmaids |

David's Bridal dress in 'Marine' |

Background: I was sent a link to David's Bridal's website. The color the mother of the bride would be wearing would be 'Marine'. The style, a strapless, floor length gown. The bride wanted earrings and a bracelet to give to her mother for a gift on her wedding day. Process: I called the bride on the phone and we talked for a bit about her mother's personal style, likes and dislikes in jewelry and about what she would most like to see. We talked over several ideas and decided on using Swarovski's pearls in 'Night Blue' with Golden Shadow crystal and vermeil findings. Her mother would be wearing metallic gold sandals. |

David's Bridal 'Azalea' Dress |
Background: The bride's step-mother would be wearing a knee length dress in David's Bridal's 'Azalea'. This is a strong, vibrant pink. The bride wanted a necklace and earring set to give to her step mother on her wedding day. Process: I called the bride on the phone and we discussed her step mother's tastes and typical style in jewelry. She would be wearing metallic silver shoes, so it was decided the jewelry should be done in silver. The bride wanted this jewelry to be as close as possible to a color match to the dress. Swarovski's 'Rose' crystal was chosen for the set (shown above). |

Earrings Coming Soon! |
Necklace Coming Soon! |
Background: There would be 7 bridesmaids. The wedding would be in October, and the color for the dresses was David's Bridal's 'Truffle' (a deep, dark brown). The bride wanted necklaces and earrings for all the girls to wear in the wedding, and to be her gift to them. Process: I met with the bride at her mother's home and we looked at a wide variety of samples. Swarovski's 'Powdered Almond' pearls and 'Light Colorado Topaz' crystal were chosen as the materials, with vermeil findings. The earrings would be approx. 2" long, and the necklaces would be 17" - slightly longer than a true 'choker' style. |
